Foal-and-SheChild

Hi guys,

Wanted to let you know that we have moved to a new account: GirlNature. It's not that we've changed as people we're just changing what we make art for. Art used to be an escape for us from reality but you can't keep running away form your fears and problems forever. The most powerful things are real, good or bad, and we should embrace them. And that's when you can start to heal. So this is what GirlNature is. A place for us to face our fears and fight our demons and hopefully help others who feel alone and are hiding from their reality. Because only messed up people can help messed up people.

As we mentioned before, we are starting a new project! Before this, we were working on our art and focusing on turning our ideas into completed pieces - which is good, but we were losing momentum and wanted more purpose. Looking at our gallery, there is much variety, probably due to our many interests. We always had a struggle of figuring out what our style was. SO, this leads us to the new project. We want to create a unique style and look for the 'Foal & SheChild' name. Showcasing ideas and interests of ours in a unifying style. So that someone could see a piece and recognize it as Foal & SheChild. It's kind of like building a brand. We started off by putting together an inspiration wall, talking about what we wanted in this brand and took off from there.  

What you should expect from Foal & SheChild? One of the major things you will see is us combining both our love of semi-realism with vector-like designs and characters. Another thing is that it will be more of a symbolic, open format type of art, which we were always more comfortable with. The ideas and topics will be, of course still true to our interests, but slightly more grounded. The look should be bold and carefree. Our first piece, Pink Cigarettes, should give you an idea of the style. Of course things may change as we continue to build the look of Foal & SheChild. Plus we will continue to improve our technique and designer eye to produce more clean, professional pieces.

     There are endless possibilities with art. So many ways you can go, so many things you can do. It's easy to get lost in it all. It's easy to just go "Hey, you know what would be cool?" about some idea and just go with it. Sometimes it's a good time to look back at your roots. Remember what is real and relevant and dear to you, your life, and heart.

I blame our slowness on mood swings. We get started on something all real excited and then a few days later it's boring. No inspiration. I don't wanna draw kittens when i'm sick with rebel spirit and feeling like screaming SABOTAGE. Maybe we should commit more, but then again I'm a believer of going with the flow and doing what you feel like doing. Still, it'd be nice to get some presentable stuff out...damn those mood swings.

Foal and SheChild, figuring it out

Whoa, first journal entry! Man, it feels like putting the first words down, with a perfectly sharpened pencil, on a fresh sheet of paper.
*fingers sweating on keyboard - (make this good, don't screw it up).

Should have done this a month ago when we started but we've been busy trying to get art up. Gallery looks so tiny right now. It's like one of those tiny newborn babies that are like 3 lbs and you're thinking to yourself, "maybe they should've kept it in the oven for a bit longer." Anyways, gotta get art up faster but it just seems.. really.. slow... over here.

Welp, just wanted to give a shout out in the woods in case some other camper was around. Or bears >.>.
